I can well remember  tailing wee prawns in Oban for £5 a stone Jim,but no 5 shillings....to hell wi' that for a caper! Mind you,we frequently gave boxes of cod away for 5 bob to auld Katie MacFarlane, that was the standard price. An odd time she had tae pey seven and a tanner and even at that was still greetin' her feckin' een oot lol A good photo that too by the way.

Aye Jim,that's the wifie, her and her sister Daisy. They filleted the fish in a shed along at the old oil berth...about where Calmac's fancy new terminal is now.She must have sold a wheen o' fish off yon auld hand barrow in her day right enough. Can mind her coming intae Duthie's office one afternoon and asking Jackie Scott "where's my weekly account?" Jackie said "it's in the pigeon hole" (the box in the hallway where all the boat's dockets were left)"Where's the pigeon hole?" she asked."Under it's tail feathers " says Jackie! He was something else was Mr.Scott, just a legend lol
