Girl Jean in a calm

Had these pics forwarded to me courtesy of Dave Hewitt. He happened to be at the Dundee club when i was having a bit o fun the other week. I just like the pics so much that I felt I should share with those who are interested.

Only one thing to say, fabulous, even the wake looks spot on

Thanks Bob. Not always possible to do a decent picture wi radio in one hand and camera in the other.   However, fortunate enough to have a camera buff visiting last week, wi a couple of grand's worth of camera gear.  Sure you'll agree he does take good pictures.

Certainly does Will, would kill for a ringer model in the hall, never seen anyone do a Fairlie 56 Ftr, have you?

    Looks very trim
    Well done!
WestBob ... ref Fairlie ... now there's a challenge. I wonder if any drawings have survived bearing in mind that the Fairlie yard still exists albeit there have been massive changes along the years. I wonder if Big Alan of Christina II knows as his dad had the Golden West
Hi Jay, actually our Dad had, I am Big Alan's better looking brother!, so from our pictures and knowledge of her and the Golden Venture we could work with some one on that, that would be great and unique outcome

    Cheers

Fairlie yard is now a housing complex painted like Tobermory (without any character )
The've put up a bronze model of a fife yacht at the end of the road as a memorial for the yard
I'll ask one of the old shipwrights who built the mtb's and fishing boats (mhairi bhan etc)
if he's any drawings i know he's a heap of pics from the 50s onwards

A lot of the yacht drawings were sold to fairlie restorations a couple of years ago. Dont know what happened to the MFV records....they might be in the Mitchell library in Glasgow, and the museum in Anstruther might have detail??
Interesting thoughts guys, be great if we could find drawings or pictures. Don't think Anstruther have anything as we have done lectures there and asked the guys, nothing
