If ex-Vestra.
Came down to fish prawn creels in Sound of Jura deep water from Ullapool late 70's early 80's with another boat, cannae mind her name, finished up with a writ on her in Crinan Canal when put out of the game by another well known creeler who was first to emigrate down from Ullapool, not a local Ullapoolian I may add he was originally from Yorkshire.
Spoke to the guys on Vestra one night in Craighouse just before she was laid up in the canal, had'nt two pennies to rub together that night so gave them some stores as they were creeping for their gear, they had lost 800 to 1000 creels, cut away by said Yorkshire man who told them "nobody fishes my patch"!
Finished up in Gigha

You're not suggesting that the creelers aren't loved up all the time are you JT ?
You'll be missing the job today ?
You'll be missing the job today ?
Suggesting no such thing big Ian.
Rainy days and stuck in here with fuck all to do but listen to her indoors spouting "could you no do this or that instead of lying there reading that bloody paper and getting all het up over Craig Whyte's dodgy dealings" when I could be down at mouth of the river does sound appealing, only for a milli-second though.
My daughter once famously said to me "Dad you would really give a couch potato a bad name" !!!
Sums up retirement.

Aye JT,retirement is fine when ye're getting out and about on a bonny Summer day,no quite so clever on a day like this when ye're facing a barrage of verbal GBH from "she who must be obeyed (at all times!)" and being told to "get up off yer lazy backside and do something"....been there, done that and I'll gie ye a lend o' ma T shirt if it's ony guid tae ye lol....commiserations old boy from a kindred spirit in Oban !!
Semi-retirement today Ronnie, just back in after stretching 3 x 100 fthms coils of wire up the quay for them to put on tomorrow, feel it in my back already so lying back and reading the paper, her indoors seys "that'l do your back no end of good" think thats her being sarcastic !
i've a wingless needing a new footrope if your board john, sure young ronnie would give you a hand, lol
