'O' gauge pre-grouping railway (except for the coaches) 4 platform through station.
where's the Flying Kipper?
Aberdeen fish train due 17..40
All the locos and a big chunk of the rolling stock are North British (later LNER). A smattering of CR, GNS G&SWR, HR and private owners make up the rest. Good point Bryan, no fish wagons......hmmm!
big part of LNER Will was the blue spot 12 ton fish wagons.trains from FR and PD to Aberdeen every day.
Aye Bryan. I remember the fish trains well coming through AH. I remember also the sealed boxes of fish being loaded into the guards vans along with Smith Hood tomatoes. Never forgot the fisher lasses catching the train to Dundee wi a basket of fish to sell round the doors. Happy days indeed.
Wellthere y'goWill ... yool have to build a fish market wi all the rail tracks, fish vans and all,and then park your models at the quay. That should keep you occupied in your dottleage!
Dinna want to be pedantic Bryan but the Blue Spot were BR not LNER....The Blue Spot designated them as being fitted wi Roller Bearings for higher speed freights.....
Bloody hell! Not just boatnuts but covert trainspotters! We're a sad lot!!!
I though I was doing well knowing a blue spot van was a fish van lol.
Looks very LNER
