Silver Birch hull planking back on track

With the renovated and modified assembly jig (re-used for five boats) now in service for this chunky hull, work progresses with the hull planking. This time the frame location blocks are located to space the frames, port to starboard. I know it is common practice to fix the deck beams before planking. It is a preference of mine that I have total free access to the hull interior for fitting electrics and steering without the obstruction of deck frames. The part-completed hull at this stage is amazingly rigid and completion of the planking can now progress without the jig. It will be totally locked when the sub-deck is added. Having spent too many years scratch-building so many different types of models, I have a very pragmatic approach to modelling. Methods are often modified according to the types of materials available and the access required. I only ever struggle when I am trying to follow instructions for kits. I am in awe of people who can follow kit instructions.
