Another ane o' Tappies, built to replace the Fame for James Slater, she ended her days in N/Ireland
25 year ago, aries worked a seperator trawl at prawn fishing, took his fair share asweel,
One of the last herring trawlers from Buckie to fish Manx herring with Heather Sprig BCK153. Always a well presented vessel. Ended her days as Ellie Rose N923, but decommissioned 2002.
Bang on, Mike. Like most of the Buckiemen, they were very "parteeclar" in the way they maintained their vessels. Story is told of a Buckie herring drifter lying in Ullapool all spic and span. PD boat came in and tied up alongside her. Skipper of BCK boat went below from wheelhouse, and told his crew .. " Awa up and hae a lookie at that boat , fa's jist tied up alongside. I'm sure aa'thin' aboard her jist drappit oot o' the sky, and landed on her deck!!!!"
