Spot the deck lights? Scarce as hens' teeth!!
Certainly widnae get dazzled wae lichts in them days ,then the fluorescent strip lichts came aboot,early ones didnae like to much salt water aboot them!!
Thoucht Ben Loyal wid hev been more used till Carbide deck lights
There's as mony lights up the after mast for a fishing signal (triangle o' 3 white lights), as there are to illuminate the deck!
C`mon noo lads, those men were civilised & didnae work muckle in the dark haha !
the fish only came out in the daytime in the old days
You got to mined boys they did ney have 110 v abourd in they days
D'ye mind the "cluster" lichts? Like a big enamel basin, wi' up to half a dozen or so bulbs, dangled fae the derrick. Common on drifters and line boats, lang ago.
