The Pentland Wave, she was converted back in the early sixties,i think she was built as the Silver Searcher at Irvines PD,anyone got a photo of her when fishing, she had a 152hp Gardner engine when converted.
Built in Granton by Martins, http://www.grantontr...r...n & Son.htm
Two of them boats built in Granton for the H.I.B Silver Searcher...Silver Scout.
Very late seventies Cubby McKinnon was Skippering this one for Mr Dalton. At that point I am 99% sure she had an 8L3B in her (it was a long time ago so I may be wrong). After this one Cubby moved onto the Kylebahn
Another thing just came to mind: Cubby was not over impressed with her, I remember him telling my old man she had too fine an entry in his opinion.
I wrote the article that somebody has supplied a link to above, I tried but couldn't find any pix of Silver Searcher as a fishing vessel.
She ended her days sunk in Lochinver harbour, can't remember did she get raised and towed out and the job done properly or was she broken up where she lay.
pentland wave was used in whitby as an angling charter boat early 80s there was anther one like her an ex fisheries research boat doing angling trips " mara "
