James MacNab collection
I've seen this classic picture many times and obviously spotted the unmistakable Village Belle111. Having never seen the Oak Lea with her original Noble's wheelhouse I never twigged that this was the Oak Lea. The Dickies wheelhouse certainly transformed her for the better. The boat alongside the Maireared TT135 looks like the Caledonia TT17 built in 1960 so the photo dates from then....or later. Do any of you TT boys remember when the Oak Lea had her new wheelhouse fitted, bearing in mind she left Tarbert in 1961. I always thought the boat inside the Belle was from outside TT,without being able to identify her. I'm probably totally wrong and I haven't decided to press the "add comment "key yet in case James has a go at me for being rustier than ever! Ah well here goes......My wife has just seen this comment, her look says it all
