Whats the A frames forrad and aft o' the hatch?,seen them on a few ringnet boats :-
Bonnie boat its like she just been on the slip for a clean no gear on the deck.
support for using the landing derrick for lowering stuff in/out of the hold ?
just a guess :-
just a guess :-
could be jist new bryan canna see a scratch on her and the manny on w/h roof maybes a compass adjuster??
I think your right Jammy looking at her she is new the manie in the whellhouse is saying to himself o dear a hope I will be able to pay the bank :-
dont think the bank manager would have been a big worry when this one was built bryan :-
I think the after frame was used to support the brailer derrick although none is fitted in this pic. Forward one could have been used to mount brailer pole forestay and keep it from running low across the hatch and deck as most of the crew would be in middle of boat when boarding the net. Nae doubt some old timer will prove me wrong though! :-
Aye your right Jammy spoke to one of the lads the day hes on one of the big PD boats big trip £120,000 GROSS £40,OOO for lease of fish, and no a big pay for the crew. all the lad that built her had to worrie about was the price of herring .
think i will stick to ma wee punt easier to run n easier to make a wage out o
beautifull
