The late John Woodman of Annan had her built at Miller's, she was named after his daughter Alison, he sold het when he got the first Fredwood, also built at Miller's.
did he have 1 before this 1? the 2 fredwoods were good boats
Had the Marwood before this 1. Aliswood was a good ship but tended to go away by the head when half loaded.
When I last saw her in Scalloway in about 20 01, or there aboot, she was looking very tidy, and the clam poles removed, rigged for the seine net only. The last boat that I have seen to have greatins, or gratins, on her deck, even in the pond below lifting ,or jilson pole on sidedeck... :-
what was the marwood like? i think the big fredwood as built was a fine ship, liked the look of her before the aft shelter n that
There was a Marwood 40ft BA339 that came to Thurso WK333 from Annan, then she went to PD named Brighter Hope PD113,think she ended her days back down the south west or maybe Northern Ireland and broken up named Felicity or somethin like that. :-
