MV Finlaggan

This quick watercolour attempts to depict Caledonian MacBrayne's newest vessel, the 'Finlaggan', which entered service (with a few glitches!) early this summer.

"With a few glitches" right enough Donald. The stuff on ships nowadays is getting far too technical.Bring back the good old days when nearly all machinery could be repaired by a man armed with a hammer...small repairs a 2lb,major job a 14lb. :-

Thanks very much, Ronnie!  As someone once said to me about steam locomotives, 'There wasn't much you couldn't sort with a rag and a spanner!'  I agree.  Even Land Rovers are being built nowadays with electronic components which control their engines!  That seems crazy to me.  I don't imagine there's a garage in the Sahari or at the South Pole with the right gear for sorting the electronics when the thing conks out! O0  As a result, the price of 'old' Land Rovers - without electronics - is going through the roof!  A mad, mad world!  :- Don't buy a new Land Rover if you want to tackle really hard and isolated terrain!  :( :( All the very best, Donald.
