ex- Elisel Carnie -1936 George Robb A.406 built by Hall,Russell and Co. Aberdeen in 1930 on.149178 length 117.6ft. br.22.1ft. 94nt.
Sadly lost with all 13 crew at Duncasby Head in December 19 59..
Also sadly lost was the Coastguard chief officer, who collapsed on the way to the cliff top.
Believe she'd just been converted to an "oil burner", and had new wheelhouse and funnel fitted
Think it was only her first or second trip after being converted to an oil burner when she gied ashore, only one crewmember made it ashore that terrible night, they found him next morning in a crouched position, poor soul must have perished with cold. :-
Really tragic story.
