Just can,t beat these old ones
great pic
Gourdon is like a time warp its no changed at all, bonnie photo the blue boat is Steven and Peter Morrisons Quest the other boats are at the creels so its the summer time, the winter its the sma lines Gourdon was the last on the east coast to shoot sma lines still going in the mid to late 80s
agree with ya Bryan, except for one thing.......... not quite a time warp where nothing changes. If I'm not mistaken, the boat furthest from the camera is Fidelity ME85. I beleive this was the first fibreglass fishing boat to be built for Scotland (pssibly first in the British Isles). Delivered brand new in 1967, to Govey Cargill of Gourdon.......... I beleive this made Gourdon the trend-setter for the future in hull design.............
Am guessin this must b tween 1967 and 1970. That must b Quest II that t Morrisons had built at Fraserburgh 1964ish? The two against the pier are both 1930s Reekie builds, Silver Quest ME150 built in 1932 as Ebenezer AH15. Think the other is Enterprise ME155, built Reekies 1931 as KY100?
Your spot on Graham I mind when she was built the talk of Gourdon was that plastic boat will no be ony use,if they only new.
any ideas where the blue quest was built the stern reminds me of another boat but the wee grey cells are letting me down (and not for the 1st time before a wag reminds me)
Quest II was built at Jas Nobles. Bryan, Fidelity is still on t go, or was last year at least, down on t Thames.
they must have got a load of brown paint all the same shade most of the boats are the same shade of brown and the house doors right behind the boats are same :-
Mack its Gourdon broon :-
