Sprats! Can still smell them. Oil was good for boats' timmers! "Pelagic" still much the same..catching power greater than vessel capacity. Can nearly hear the Boddamers..."We'll manage anither lift, boys!"
Not built by Irvins James as I have been told that the Golden View was the only 40 footer they built. Some PD men could verify this.

Think it was Herd & MacKenzie, but from the yard they had in PD, where the "new" market's just been demolished. Used to be the yard of G Forbes, where some of PD's finest & most advanced boats (of their time) were built.

Built by Herd & McKenzie in Peterhead in 1954 same year as the Provider ex ( Green Pastures BF 4 )

Trawling with seine-net ropes, and discharging a basket at a time!!
pairtrawling up moray firth.a common sight at time wish i had a camera then.its a wonder that none of the boats were lost the loads they had aboard
