Was this one built as the Lossie Acorn ??
Pretty sure built as Monarch, Bryan .. Macduff Boatbuilding Co. 1960. May be wrong. Not unlike Argosy from same yard. Credit to builders she's still around. These old wooden seiners were never intended to be stressed, shaken around with towing dredges. Job for a steel boat!
You will be right George I thought it was the Acorn that went to CN but it could have been the old INS Argosy .
Gee Bee your correct, she was similar to the Maldon that was built for Wick at the same yard, the Monarch has had a steel cassion fitted later.
Argosy I was thinking about was "Pennan" Bill West's one , who later built Poseidon.
Monarch (BF 179??)was built by Clem Paterson for Charlie Ewen of Macduff about 1960. She had a steel caisson from the start which was relatively unusual for the Macduff seiners at that time. She was kept immaculately while in Macduff. She was replaced by the Attain about 1970.

A fine ship.
Appears to be still the same caisson, apart fae a fresh window section. Not bad for half a century.
The CN ACORN was ACORN INS 66; CN220 1989 B 84 1994 decommissioned.
