    I was put aboard her one night , north side o' the Stoer. The boat I was berthed on was going home through the Firth, so I was left to take home the boat's Transit from Ullapool. Fished all night with John. Great lad!! Underway for Ullapool with a good shot. After supper, John asked me if I liked listening to good music??? Thought that a strange question, but I said "Aye" !! "Follow me" he said .. which I did, into the engine room. She was going flat out." Hearken, that's me cats", he said wi' a grin. "Now that's music"!! Topper of a guy, and a good freen'.

    Hi - I'm John and Donald Hugh's first cousin - just to set the record straight, their father and uncles (Andrew, Jimmy) owned the Heather Lea II as my grandfather owned the original Heather Lea. The Maggie McLeman was owned by  our relatives in Violet Cottage not our grandfather. Don MacLeman
