Tyne 11 ex- Crete Hatch Built1920. on.143923 obtained by Yacht club in 1924. capsized Oct.1949
This must have been one of the 3 built at Sunderland in the 20's. Crete Hatch, Crete Hawser which is still in the River Wear at Claxheugh Rock, and another I can't remember the name of.
posibly Cretewheel. remains at Newbiggin
There was one laid in WY when I was a little lad, she was gutted of non ferrous by Herbert Boocock and was towed round to the scaur and grounded just to east of the coast guard station about 1947
She broke in two and there is still a lot left of her, Her name is Crete block, you can still see the name set in her bow
