ex ouseburn double ender looked tidier than that the last time i saw it i only hope it has gone to a good home as its a good strong boat.
Anyone got any history on this un. unusual planking. vertical,
possibly had another skin put over the top,as ive never seen vertical planking before,if thats the case whoever did it did a cracking job.
Is it maybe that this an old lifeboatconversion which where often built with several layers of thin carvel planking going in opposite directions which made them much stronger - Ships lifeboats and RNLI boats were built this way at one time prior to aluminium grp etc. There is a name for this type of construction -which escapes me right now!...?
double diagonal
thought double diagonal was just that - diagonal. Think less framing was required with it. Cant see the benefit of horizontal/vertical planking, must be a naval thing.
