She's BIG.........! What's her size?
From memory I think she was about 77 or 78 feet Will, one of the early Cat powered boats.A bonny looking vessel but no as shapely as a Herdies(in my humble opinion).
Will she was Davie Smiths Argonaut 11 the one built 64 at Smith& Hutton 75ft.
I widnae stake ma pension on it Bryan, but I think she was bigger than 75...we're no gaun tae fa' oot ower twa fit though are we? lol
No Ronnie your right she be 78ft a big able boat in her time sunk on the way to Arbroath to get decomed.
Aye Bryan,he was a great fisherman that man.If we had a pound each for every box of fish he put ashore in his career we would be millionaires many times over...in fact, even at a shilling a box we would still be gey wealthy laddies lol
Sorry boys, you are both wrong......She was 79' long.
Come on now,be fair,I was only a fit oot...what are ye wanting,blood?? !!! lol
the best seine net man ever in the british isles won the trophy umpteen times had a lot of contenders in his time forthright steadfast ajax like mohamed ali plenty competition but none quite good enough true legend
Aye Billy, the word "legend" gets bandied aboot far ower much nowadays for my liking. Some unknown wee numptie appears on Top of the Pops singing a shit*e song and suddenly they're a legend?...my ar*e! He definitely deserved that accolade though...him and a few others at the fishing...they sure earned it.
