Burton Fleming - H448 & Connaught - INS268

Burton Fleming - H448 & Connaught - INS268 seen here in North Shields Fishquay - some time between late 1970s and early 1980s.

my dad and uncle went and looked at this boat early 80's steve but she was too big for the clyde being over the 70ft i think she had rope reels in her at that time or maybe it was one of the other burton boats the ylooked

is there any of them still fishing???
    constable fleming agnes...............
don't think any of them are left now jammy. :)
am i right in saying there was six of them built some wood some steel that was the only three i knew about cause dad had looked at them
ALSO BISHOP BURTON, BURTON CONSTANCE, ALONG WITH THOSE ALREADY MENTIONED, THEYRE THE FIVE I KNOW OF. :)
    BURTON  PIDSEA
    BURTON  AGNES
    BURTON  FLEMING
    BURTON  LONSDALE
    CHERRY  BURTON
    BURTON  CONSTABLE
    BISHOP  BURTON
    VERA  LOUISE
THESE  WERE  BUILT  OF  WOOD  AND  STEEL .
and all of them gone from the job in one way or another??

did the vera louise not get the wheelhouse shifted aft then sank??
canny pic that one, I wonder what the light vessel is on the right??

All those ships parked up at Smiths yard further up stream as well. It s a sad and desolate trip down the river these days
burton fleming became dee marie fished her from 1982 till 1990 at the seine net south and west coast top sea boat in her day wonderful working platform broke up in castletownbere last year alan lopez was her skipper in shields for newington trawlers
Did one not become Grace me Guide and another become Kings Crusader
Burton Constable became the Grace Me Guide and the Cherry Burton became the Kings Crusader, one or two worked from SH for a time and a few ended up in Ireland as well. The three steel ones (Burton Anges+Pidsea, Bishop Burton) were built by Dunstons of Thorne/Hessle, Agnes scrapped in Ireland a year or so ago, don't know about the other two but I doubt they're still on the go.
