one of bobo,s auld boats think it was called the provider sure its in the isle o man now
was provider now the marida DO.37, mint condition, new wheelhouse on her since this pic
Now l can remember the launch of this one (still at school granted), but summin tells me she was a bawhair over the size to tow in the firth & a bit o her stem post was sliced-off, cos l mind the cuttin lay for a long time abt the yard when l used to go along on a sat, remember it talked abt being on the scottish news, hope l right abt that ??
Ca help thinkin thats andrew tod sittin on the pier?, thats eck tamson sittin on seat at lifeboat shed !
Girl Ann V was she no the Trevas FY.620
If thats the PROVIDER that Tommy Westie had in the Broch FR 307, she must have had her wheelhouse heightened, cos I was aboard her for a couple of weeks in 19 80,and it wisna that height...
its alan mowbray , aka, tuffty, sittin on the pier eck,
You're right Baggywrinkle, can mind towing alongside her at the west side of Colonsay when she was FR reg.and the wheelhouse was just normal height. This one wasnae the cut off stem Girl Ann Caiplie, the one that got chopped was the third Girl Ann that Smith and Hutton built..67/68 or thereabouts?? Yon escapade made the front page of the Daily Express if memory serves.Wonder if he ever went to the long ropes inside the Firth after all that?
yer right ronnie its the one in ireland now ex LH2.
He did go to the ropes in the Firth wey her Ronnie landed some good shots from around Dysart bhouy and METHIL AREA .The boat pictured was built for Arthur and William Armstrong of AMBLE .Caught a lot of fish this 1 at the seine net .SNAPPER cheers
