picture says it all!
Well looks like the EEC has done it's worst again, I remember when you couldn't shoot a fleet of pots south of Ryhope, as there were too many cobles in the "Harbour" 
Theres a similar picture in every harbour in the UK. The fleet must be down to around 25% of what it was 30 years ago in most ports.
I was sat on the hall car park eating my fish and chips looking out on the water, there was two cobles from the town off ryhope, apart from that not a boat in sight clear all the way to hartlepool! I was telling my wife that not 15 years ago there would be 50 odd boats lying off either driving or working creels and trammels. She found it hard to imagine when I showed her the dock.
