Girl Jean AH 76 exhaust

Girl Jean AH 76 exhaust

Removed exhaust/silencer and wrapped it in asbestos (pretend) then re-installed it. Hope I got all the connections tight to the 'Gairdner'.

Yes,I like the lagging Will, very realistic indeed.A dry exhaust such as that was great when new, kept the wheelhouse/galley toastie warm(a tad too warm in the Summer though),but when it was old and started to leak a wee bit...torture breathing in the fumes.I can still remember the taste in my mouth, sore eyes and a throat that was rougher than a hedgehog's ar*e after a week of that caper before we got a new silencer. As for stripping the old lagging off,it was like being out in a snowstorm! When ye think back on it,between that, breathing in exhaust fumes,anti-fouling paint fumes, fag and coal fire reek fumes plus bilges that stank of diesel at times,it's a bl*ody wonder we're still alive...must have lungs like leather
