The old telephone building at Port Lathaich at the mouth of the Kerrera Sound where the transatlantic telephone cable came ashore. The cable, laid in the mid 50s,ran to Clarenville in Newfoundland and lasted unil 1978.The building has been lying empty since then and is too far off the track for the vandals to bother about...no self respecting lazy bast*rd of a yob is going to walk 5 or 6 miles just to smash a window, they're no that keen!
