Aliped 8 when Big Charlie Robertson had her(he got her after he lost the wee Spes Bona on Staffa)She could go like a train with the 310 Kelvin in her that one.
not many would catch her going for the first pool

We had a wee speed trial with him coming up from Colonsay with the Shahdaroba and he didnae get away from us over a mile or so going flat out.12 knotts on Charlie's Navstar was the speed. The Village Belle 3 also had a race round the buoys in Oban with him and he got away from him(I would have thought with the shorter boat he wouldn't have, but he sure did) Marky Dan McAllister was aboard the Belle and "borrowed" her that day after a wee session in the pub...good job Paul was away home that day lol
old belle was a flyer with 132 kelvin i have a felling that if girvan man was in her he would bethrowing u a rope aliped i mean

The K6 was out the Belle by then,it was a Volvo that she had in (250 or thereabouts)...I'm no saying she walked away from the Aliped but she was just that wee tad faster.I was standing on the Railway pier with a few others that day and we all got a surprise...the smart money was on the Aliped but the outsider won that time lol

Never had the pleasure of a Cat Bryan, but the Cummins was very frugal on the motion lotion. We were burning less with the 330 Cummins in the Shahdaroba than we were with the 114 Gardner in the Seagull for the same length of week. Having said that we put 450 gallons through an 88s pipes for a 4days and a friday morning haul week here in Oban with the old man on the Kittiwake...now yon bloody things really could drink it for the power that was in them lol
think willy mcrindle (pinn) had a faster boat , the Sapphire was a flyer and would have given the Aliped a good race
