LAPWING

built for David MacBrayne in 1903 by Scott & Co. of Bowling for the Oban-Outer Hebrides year round service. Had some passenger sleeping accommodation. Later ran from Portree.
Ran aground off Oban in 1917. Salvaged, she was sold to Clyde Cargo Steamers in 1918.
Requisitioned by the Government, she ran from Penzance to the Scillies and then from Plymouth to the Channel Islands, managed by the Hain Steamship Co.
Back on the Clyde with Clyde Cargo Steamers in 1920, she was altered to a pure cargo steamer and renamed 'Cowal' in 1926.
Scrapped in 1931.
