Any one got any info on this one, she looks very similar to my boat Dawn Pearl (ex Goodway FR330)
Any idea where this was taken Ally?,i remember her working oot o' Scrabster at the ripper many years ago, last time i saw her was in Kyle o' Lochalsh 1989.
This photo was taken when the "Accord" first arrived in Shetland, at the boat repair yard of Malakoff, she was built new at Summers yard for Robert Stephen of Cairnbulg very early 1960s? my father John William Smith brought her to Shetland around 1965, she was reregistered LK688, he fished creels with her for lobster and crab. She was sold to Edwin Groat Orkney in the late 1960s then to Alec Mackay Scrabster ? year and lastly to Sir Patrick Grant of Dalvey ? year, she was lost through sinking over 30 years ago.
Further research shows that Tommy Summers never built a boat with the name "Accord" but there is one on his list with the same reg number FR 269, biult in 1961 called "Edna". Could this be the same boat with a early name change? If so she also may have had another owner, Niel Bruce of Buckie, the boats second owner, this being the case it seems likley that he could have changed the name and also that my father bought the boat from him. Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Looks like the rail has been worked on at the aft end, thats presumably the work that Malakoff were doing when the pic was taken. Bonny wee boat
Pretty sure Neil Bruce had the Edna new,BUT it IS along time ago
Is it possible that the Edna could have been BCK reg when new? before changing to Accord FR 269.
