Oban lifeboat

Oban lifeboat

I'm not exactly sure but I think this is the second lifeboat to be stationed at Oban, the first being a 21ft.MacLachlan.She's lying on her mooring to the East of the South pier.I can't for the life of me remember what her name was or when I took the photo but It was probably late1970s.One thing's for sure....going by the snow it certainly wasnae in the Summer!

This could be RNLB Dorothy and Philip Constant, 42,0 Watson built 1962 which was stationed at Oban 81-82 or previous to this the first ALB was RNLB Watkin Williams another 42,0 Watson built 1956 and at Oban 78-81 >:(

Cheers for that bit of info Cliff. The name Watkin Williams rings a bell but I can't say the other one does...my memory only stores so much info! As I've said many times before, why did I not put dates on photos, but I would hazard a guess at 1978 or 79.
