Wave Crest BCK 217

Ally, Forgive my ignorance, what class of vessel were these and who built them ?. regards Dave.  :police:
They were all built at Herd & Mc Kenzie, the 1st of this style was the Golden Strand and Janeen but they must have been too small as the next batch were all slightly bigger.

Also FR Accord was a bigger version and the Green Field & Green Isle are even bigger versions.
Unity was first of this class in 1972. Celnius in '73 during sprat bonanza in Moray Firth. Morning Star, Wave Crest, Helenus, Heather Sprig, Janeen 11, Bounteous (sank, refloated, renamed Galeen), Crystal Sea, Ceol na Mara, Silent Waters. In this area they were affectionately known as the "tin boaties"!!
As Ally says, the Golden Strand and Janeen were an earlier, smaller class.
