I went  to sea aboard  another boat with Aiex Noble, who along with his twin brother, had THE  WAY built in Macduff in 19 64 . He told me that she had a sonar installed in her at first , but the builders were asked to remove it . either  because it was too complicated or too expensive . She was small and under the tonnage , because both Alex and his  brother were colour blind....That mere detail did not affect their fishing prowess, as they they were always in landing big shots .....catches, at the drift net for herring, which was the method of fishing  they prosecuted all or most of the time they had her . I must  add , Alex was a very very nice man,a Christian man right to the core , and I believe his brother Robbie is the same . Sadly Alex left us a few years ago now , but Robbie is still very still with us .
