Anyone know if the ex 1940s/50s Berwick lifeboat J+W became a fishing vessel? After service she was renamed either Amazon or Amethyst, but am not certain if she was used for fishing or pleasure. Am asking cos theres talk of her returning to Berwick as a restoration project.
According to the Ex Lifeboat handbook, J and W built 1929 and stationed at Portpatrick 29-37,Berwick 40-57 and sold in1957, first name being LN 68 then Amethyst had a wheelhouse added  as a fishing boat at Bridge Boatyard,South Benfleet, 7/2010
J+W also now back at Berwick for restoration.
Any of the BK lads know where the William and Mary Durham is now?

William and Mary Durham is fishing out of Portree, Skye.

Rather than the J.W. Archer, I think the pic (above) may actually show ex-ON. 710 White Star, Fishguard 1930-1957 then Reserve.  Certainly she is a 45ft 6in Watson rather than 45ft because note the for'd cockpit still survives, just in front of the fisherman at the bow, JW Archer would not have this.  Also,  J W Archer's registration number was HL144  and the number on this boat appears to be different. Her gunwales are obviously raised. If this is ON.710 she is fishing out of Cardiff.
