Ex SD 78?
sure there was a redfern in seaham years ago
any idea what the blue and white coble next to the redfern is?
Blue and white coble Ocean Pride ex- SN.139. ex Dewy Rose BK.173 built Amble 1937. Redfern ex= SD.78 was at Seaham ex Ocean Vanguard BH.184. built Amble 1943. also BH.104
thanks for the info dave.
awsome to think that a coble built in 1937 is still going strong. Dave has the redfern been covered in glass fibre? could just be me looking to hard at the photo, but thats how she looks. shame if so as I understand its a death sentence for a wooden boat.
Things look a lot better up there from when I was last in the UK in 2007, nearly all the boats then were rotting to pieces. I see the old much thought of "Redfern" is still going albeit fibre grass sheathed. Thanks for the pics Dave D
Aye she was glassed a few years ago. then left upside down until recently.will go back in the next few days and see whats happening to her
