This article appeared in the Newcastle Sunday Sun newspaper yesterday (23rd November 2008) and explains the circumstances under which it was taken  :)

    Fins can only get better!

Just when he thought it was safe to go back in the water . . .

This snappy picture shows how a shark bit off more than it could chew.

The hungry critter put its jaws around an unmanned exploration vessel. But it wouldn't let go after trying to make a meal of the undersea robot.
And it was still hanging on when the equipment was hauled back to the pipe laying ship Audacia.
Stunned crew took a picture of the shark with his mouth wrapped around pipes.

North seafarer Lee Blackboume sent the picture home to pals.
Lee was working on the Audacia, owned by Swiss company Allseas, when the shark attacked the remote operated vessel known as a ROV.
He said: "How cool. The ROV got attacked in the sea and the shark held on when they lifted it onto the vessel."

Lee, of North Shields, North Tyneside, is working offshore in the Indian Ocean on a major pipe contract.
