I've used this method once before to simulate the pitch on the plank joins but was in too much of a hurry to incorporate it into my other builds.
Ingredients -
Planks
Black sugar paper
Fast setting wood glue (Loctite woodbond rapid)
Cut a piece of sugar paper to suit the planks you intend to use. (I used approx A4 for my planks.)
Put some pva onto a non porous surface.
Drag the edge of the planks lightly across the pva.
Lay the plank edges onto the sugar paper approx 2mm apart and press down.
Once dry, trim the sugar paper along the edges of the planks.
You will have a plank with one black edge and they look pretty damn good when laid.
That saves having to use black thread, this way is a lot more consistent Great idea Will, !!!!!!!!!

Thanks Dave. I'm totally relieved to have that job behind me now. Fancy some detail work for a change.
