My dad Alex Houston, aka Sanny Houston, passed away suddenly on March 6th at the age of 81 years.
He was a fisherman all his life, starting at 14 at Innerwell Salmon Fishery, Garlieston, then fishing on various boats out of Girvan, Maidens and Dunure.
He had his first trawler built in 1970 - Cairnsmore BA74, then Boy Cameron BA201, and finally buying Islesman SY433 in 1976, she was renamed Boy Cameron II (now Islander BA316).
He was laid to rest with my mother at Glasserton Cemetary near Whithorn on 14th March.
