SEAHAM HARBOUR MARINA

SEAHAM HARBOUR MARINA

MOORING PONTOONS IN PLACE AT SEAHAM HARBOURS NORTH DOCK MARINA.

A sad state of affairs, taking the fishing fleet picture into consideration.  ;)

What are they going to park in there- Landrovers?
Still can't understand why they didn't put gates in at the next set of piers east and I certainly can't see them pontoons standing up to the surge you get in that dock when the weather comes away
Totally agree paul, gates at the next set of piers would have made the dock twice the size that it is now,& a deeper entrance. as it is them pontoons look a bit flimsy for the surge that dock see's at times, they have made a bad situation worse.......................... ;) ;) ;) ;)
ERRRRR you don’t get any surge in the dock do you!! I think it will end in tears when the unmanned gate jams as it does at St Peters Marina with the same set up, and its blowing easterly matchsticks come to mind   ;) ;) ;)
Bet it all looked good on paper little bud.................. ;) ;) JUMPA wud have loved them pontoons............. ;) ;) ;)
They don’t know the half of keeping a boat in Seaham, i remember we got the tail end of Hurricane think it was Charlie or andrew  in 91 it was straight easterly, Margaret anns mooring was between the two Mooring Dolphins , there was that much swell in the dock it ripped the cleats out of the ribs. We had to dodge in the outer bay till half water until the motion subsided, i have seen 9 to 12 ft of lift in that dock ,imagine been on a pontoon and the gate jams.
Aye rite enough LB, these so called safe havens might well work ok one or two miles up a river, but directly into the open sea  ?  these so called planners are living in cloud coocoo land......... ;)
Thing is Paul like Sunderland once the damage has been done the "experts in the field" are at the next trough with their fees trousered very nicely thank you very much
Hi Paul I’m not going to tell ya how to suck eggs, you have worked from Seaham for many years and know the score. I wish them all the best; it beats the days when Seaham harbour was closed to the public. But surely this is a accident waiting to happen.
