Yell need ti get the mast and derrick fitted or they winna get the coal discharged.. My father was in 2 or 3 puffers jist after the last war ,WARLIGHT and RAYLIGHT but I cant remember the other one..I had an uncle aboard the PIBROCH,and a friend aboard the GLENCLOY, I grew up listening to stories of the puffers and must have read PARA HANDY tales about ,at least 3 times...
The on deck loo,or "the usual offices" !!..great detail there Cam
What scale is she, Cam. Superb subject. For the sentimental, you can get the Ealing studios film 'The Maggie' on dvd which was the inspiration for Para Handy. Also good reading is 'Last of the Puffermen' by Keith McGinn. Hilarious stories within.
Na Will Taylor, It was the other way round,PARA HANDY came first.. All based on a series of short stories in a Glasgow evening paper ,by Neil Munroe,,,or Hugh Fowlis, his other name...Started before the first Great War..There were never any swear words, nor any politics,,and best of all, never any mention of any football team,,only great humour
shes 1:32 scale Will. thanks for the coments lads, i am looking forward to may cheers ringnetman.
