Skipper checkin tin boxes

Skipper checkin tin boxes

Taken by Peter Watt 1968
My Grandfather Abby Sach sortin tin boxes in the Broch

Whats the boat in the background ?
Wisteria was mentioned in another pic
Just a shot in the dark, but there was a ringer bought to the Broch and renamed Brizander.Fished prawns and pout. Skipper was a Zander Strachan. His wife was a correspondent for Fishing News, I think. May or may not be this boat, but very like her.
Great shot o' Abbie wi' his "barkie". That's when fishermen looked like fishermen!
Aye Geebee Baden thocht it wiz the Brizander which was the Wisteria before it ,, hoping to get some more photos aff ma mums cousin , thank god the gear has improved over the years
you can actually blow this pic up full screen on the orignal site but still the reg numbers blurred or ill hiv to go to specsavers :coolsmiley:
I had an uncle from the broch..... Robert watt but was called sach..skippered the dewy rose a long time ago was at the lines at one point..any connection?
Aye Ronald , my grandas Brother , I think he certainly had a brother called Robert and they were the Sach Watts , take it through marriage
How many under thirties would remember the old Ice factory in the back ground , remember the old man filling the boat with ice from thhere when I was a kid and stayed in the Broch
aye he was married to my mothers sister....he left the sea...and moved to elgin ....he must have died fairly young ...im thinkin roughly 35 years ago......
Now that might be the photographers father Ronald on his photo page on panoranio o what ever its called there is a pic of my mother , uncle and Peter in Cooper Park in Elgin, did he have a son at all
