LYING IN CANAL
i think this one was an ex purser/fishing boat?
ex CLABEN PD same boat as CONQUEST FR 1 Built McLeans RENFREW In the Clyde .
think this was sunk and raised then converted in dundee docks to salvage vessel redeemer ,was raising a million pounds worth of copper ingots lost in the bay of biscay.
Was this Jimmy Lovie's boat ?
Was kirkwall reg ' Responsive ' before it sank .
Correct, Gavin. Jimmy Lovie's Claben. Fished out of PD as Responsive. Think she was DJ Forman's then. Skipper was ? Nicol (forget his 1st name) .. Any info? Seem to remember he died a young man.
I was offered a share in that boat with a friend that I knew at the time Jimmy Ritchie...I decided not to go ahead with move after a lot of thought ..David Foreman owned the boat at that time and like Gee Bee says .. she was called RESPONSIVE .Jimmy got someone else to replace me Allan I think Nicol was his name but not sure .Jimmy only had about two or three trips when he was tragically killed when his car crashed on the Peterhead road at the now removed railway bridge at Lonmay Allan took the boat himself for a while but I cant remember how long....Steven Green had her when she went on fire off the west side of the Orkenys The last time that I saw her was in the harbour Penzance Cornwall ..
been lying in the james watt dock in greenock the last few yrs meant to be returning to salvage work but has never moved think the owner works in australia
I must correct a bad mistake that I made earlier ...It wis SANDY RITCHIE not JIMMY RITCHIE tha had the RESPONSIVE ..my sincere appologies ..
