re. 2 port lights, they were belt and braces guys in them days,,
mebey just there as backup, or couldn,t get replacement fitting for holding the bulb so replaced with another light, and left the big one so no to spoil the look ...

A few came in the late 70s+ with sidelights where the lifebelts hung .. below the wheelhouse windows. Scottish Maid, Mystic, Wistaria... Fashion didn't last long.
It's back in fashion! noticed the FR Rebbeca has them.
The one where the photo's taken from is a Sandhaven boat, by the builder's plate. I'd guess Shalimar PD337, with a very young Andrew Strachan with his head out the window. 2 port lights. Can't remember that fashion!
