thats ducha and shamus, built millers 1950 and fished out of campbeltown right up to the late 80's or early 90's, can't quite remember, duncan and shamus McArthur, ducha's daughter is married to john "noon" Mcdonald ex owner/skipper of the Adoration.
both duncan and shamus  never got to benefit from the long retirement they deserved, the boat was always kept in immaculate condition with its green tarpaulin protecting the bottom half of the wheelhouse from the elements.

commodore stewart, aye right enough, willie was my next door neighbour when i was a small boy, after he retired him and cathie had a wee sweetie shop at the top of the longrow between what was patersons garage and where the CO-OP now is, his daughter doreen was married to the late billy wareham who died two years ago, billy will be remembered by many, he had the girl eileen which went to the wilkiesons on gigha and the boy stewart which either came from rothesay or ended up there?
oh and useless bit of information, bill's (willie stewart) cat was called sooty, a game he used to play in later life if i or any of my brothers met him, he'd ask if we knew him, then he'd guess which one of the four brothers we were, then he'd ask if we remembered the name of the cat? a very nice man, both he and billy, real gents, billy is much missed by the pensioners of the town who he used to entertain, playing the guitar and singing the old songs, accompanied by wee rodger on the accordian, doreen works with my next door neebur and is one of the few people i know that can speak more and smoke more than me, just saying hello to her lasts an hour.
is Mary Mclean still afloat ?
