ok hound of the sea.there are about 5 engines same as mine going about fraserburgh area.supossed to be 535hp.but theyv actually come with an aftercooler and are 700hp.screw them back to 535 and thats what you get.our injectors were blown in bits after 6 months.im not sure what it needs done to put it right.probally take off after cooler fuel pump and turbo for 535hp.maybe any mechanical men reading this can advise.as cat lads have been back to us doing sea trials and trying different things about 10 times.
any idea what your charge air temp is? (after air cooler).

    Overcooling would be detrimental.

hi cat man have no idea im not really mechanical minded.few expert engineers flying up from south on tues.but fine to get some suggestions from you guys.the aberdeen guys havent fixed it in 2 years.changed injectors.sent away fuel pump.advanced timeing no difference

Would you no be better finding out if your prop and gearbox can be altered and take the 700 the same as the rest of them. The engine wouldnt burn any more fuel and it would be better for it cos 700 running canny would be better than 530 running hard.If that worked you would have more power and it would save the blood pressure. You would have the cost of units for hp increase but thats better than missed time and maintenence costs.Bill Farachur or Frank at FAL would tell you if it could be done.
like bob says, engine would be happier working nearer its rated power.

The 3516's we have run sweet at 95% load, but at half load or less, the exhaust temps are all over the shop.

i hope you put a saucer of milk out for it every morning.
