Had a rummage through some of me da's old postcards when I was visiting me ma over christmas. Apologies if any of these have been posted before
MV Loch Toscaig at loch Toscaig
I know this cos it sez so on the picture (wouldn't have a clue otherwise)
She was the Lismore ferry from Oban for a good few years that one Mark...65ft. ex MFV with a 132 Kelvin in her.Engine was painted white as I recall..some colour to have a Kelvin!
Many a day i went over on her Ronnie. Happy Days............................................................................John
loch toscaig was doing angling trips from cardwell bay gourock early 80s,owned by somebody in glasgow she broke her mooring in force 8 or 9 gale hit the cal mac ferry juno then sank at pier was later lifted and moved and left lying on beach.The owner never listened to the local skippers who all moved thier own boats he said his mooring was solid unfortunately the samson post on the boat wasnt.
