    I'm sure this was the boat on Countryfile just before Christmas. John Craven was on her after Velvet crabs.

    Yeah this was on countryfile and another program recently. The skipper is a cracking guy with a huge knowledge of fishing in the uists. Ringnet, yeah i've seen a bit of herring round the fords now and again, used to get them on the handline round in the bays on the westside of benbecula when i was younger but not sure what kinda quantities are bout nowadays.

    Watched a couple of programs with this boat and some others,english subtitles as the it was in gaelic

    Now that the spanish? have bought the western isles pelagic entitlement-what chance of(if there  was) of a small scale "ecological fishery " in the lochs and bays again!!?? Will the shelties an broch rich thieves be subject to the proceeds of crime act like other less deserving operators?
