At is a lovely picture of past times,Norman is that mussels or clappy doo's they are working with ?

Think you are right dave-d in that it is White Rose, came to Tarbert early 70's from IoM where she had been partially converted to houseboat, 80hp Gleniffer that would'nt pull the skin of a rice pudding, the MacFarlane's re-instated her for ringing/trawling and name changed to Third Wish 001TT, installed a 6lxb later, sold south again, Swivel might know where she went
Great picture Norman ,nice to see the old Musselmen,I recognise Caddy in the boat Geoff Hughes on the beach.They gather mussels by hand from the beach and use long rakes in the deeper water for bigger mussels.Looks like they are sorting raked mussels on the beach.They still use the same methods today.It looks the White Rose by the Quay she was converted to a yacht and was always varnished.Les
