Am loving seeing your fab black and white photos on here, lovely old wooden boats.
if it is the said boat, P Coull bought her fished out off hl. i worked on her early 80s. he then bought the dayspring AH 165 which caught fire off hl 14-4-87 5pm
cracking picture, a living to be made for 4 men on a 40 footer, changed days now
Jimmy Noble FR built her 1955 for Andrew Strachan (Katie Andra). Seine netter. I still remember him, as I cycled to school, on days when he wasn't out at sea, walking to his boat (no car) with an old suit jacket (pre-parka days) and ex policemen's trousers (standard rig at the time), his cap to one side. Only one mast, doubling as a derrick for swingin' aboard the fish, as well used for landing. Very fine men. My late esteemed friend David Lemon and myself, early '60s, were asked by Andra to be part of the first mock rescue, on the first Scottish Week .. Date ? A dream for 13-14 year olds. Once in the Bay, skipper set off a flare, which got the lifeboat racing down the old slipway, near the Hallelujah Lobby! We took to the inflatable and it was a "textbook operation", as they say, made even better 'cos the Coastguard's daughter was in the raft with us!! She refused the Kiss of Life!
