Built Gerrard early 60s for the Smith family of Arbroath they were the only owners of her 230 Gardner only went to the  seine net and a top catching boat decomed at Arbroath.
I mybe mentioned this before on the other site, but remember first time l saw this boat in aberdeen early 80s, she a few yrs old at that time l actually thought she a new boat, all on deck neatly stowed & perfect (just the way l like to see things), aways thought a really cheery name too !
;D I did one trip aboard her early 1990 fillin' in for one o the crew. 9 day trip plagued by bad weather, in Skudenhaven (I think at was it!) for a wee while shelterin.Abody else went to Lerwick and at that time it was a record for the amount of fishing boats in Lerwick harbour for shelter. I remember we left Skudenhaven and had a couple o days and the weather got up again, we had shot awa and the Barra Supplier ran ower the dhan. She picked her up and we went alongside to get it back & for the wye the weather was we got it! After that we made for Peterhead landing 165 boxes, all good stuff & got a good price and a good wage for the amount of fish. It was the only time I'd been to seine net all the rest had been traw/pair trawl. Anyhow I always remember the June Rose as the best boat I sailed on during my 5 year career at the fishing. As I have read here & on other sites everything had a place and neatly stored away. Great boat, great skipper & crew. It was a shame to see great vessel like this go.  ;D
