Only thing a notice is all the fenders on the port side odd for a west coast ringer
I'd looked at this pic many times and never noticed the tyres.....well spotted John. The question is WHY?.....Answers on a post card ....no prize just for fun! Who is going to be first?
Snow on hills back of Kilfinnan, so just a guess, photo might have been taken round about march so they would be at banks, is that not a net hauled up strb side deck, they usually carried a smaller net for down there.
Need to ask Willie Dickson

i thought it wiz a femily oh toonsleys had taken up squatters right on the forrat deck?
any particular reason why they worked the net on the port side? as far as i know our boats worked on the same side-did any body work the starboard side?
did they ever pair with a east coast boat, maybe thats why he was workng starboard side
Well Frank I don't know if this is right, they would leave harbour and go south down west shore, that they called going the right way, pass over a spot and shoot right away, similarly going north up the east shore was called going the right way.
My dad when we were at seine net always shot port side ropes first, very rarely strb as was the norm, old ringer style.

J, Evelyn's neighbour was always Anne Marie cept when they replaced engines and wheelhouses. Near sure they always carried an extra shallow net for Banks and Brown Head.
just a thought john, was willie dixons father the skipper when this would have been taken or was it willie himself
