didnt know sum of the big lads were up the royle keys ,fishing news says the west key is neary finished  :idiot2:dosent look like it is,talking to the key master he reakons he has no where to put the big boats  :fool:should be intresting
Aye King Prawn, Western Quay is way over the finish time- was supposed to be open NOW. Trouble is that the local residents had a hand in the delay by their complaints that work should only be undertaken after 08.00 due to noise. Of course that had a knock on effect in that it slowed the work down - now the residents are complaining about the length of time it is taking to complete - no win situation.

Suppose the Marina has the advantage of nice Bog and Shower facilities  ???

aiai steve i think a few boats would rather go up there for the showers an its a bit safer for the boats, one time the other year the people who live over from the west key were complaining when the boats were leaving there engines on when tiyed up. its a joke the town was built up around the harbour  ???
Aye its a case of NIMBY's - Not In My Back Yard, who was there first?, easy answer, THE FISHERMEN  ???

Always remember the local residents around the Spanish City, they were always complaining about the noise from the fair, especially when a new ride was installed. So you buy a house next to an amusement park, do you expect noise?, hell yes. Buy a 'luxury apartment' on NS Quayside, do you expect noise and smell, hell yes  ???

There have wanted the fish key closed down for years, i realy dont think they have dun the west key for visting boats a give it a few years and they will be building something there. like they took down the old fish store's wounder wot the plan is for them ....more flats..... ???
Well something had to be done with the Western Quay or it would have fallen into the river sooner rather than later.  As to the demolitions, heaven knows what the land is going to be used for  - I thought we were in a recession so I don't know where the money is going to come from. My reading of the situation is that the Cooncil have acquired the land for future development, whenever that may happen and for whatever purpose.  In a way its a 'good' thing that the empty units were demolished as there's nothing worse than seeing buildings gradually become vandalised and an eye sore.
